Whilst every effort is made to ensure that the information on the web-site is accurate and entries up to date, we cannot guarantee this or accept liability for any errors. The content may also be subject to change without notice. Estimated publication dates for instance are often revised by the publisher.

Ordering
Books may be ordered directly through the website shopping basket.Please note that for your added peace of mind Summerfield Books use the high security on-line payment services of ProTx-SAGE.

Orders may also be placed via e-mail or telephone at any time. An answerphone/fax service is available 24 hours in our absence. We are most likely to be there to take your call between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Availability
Most new books are kept in stock for immediate dispatch. If not in stock, the expected delivery time will be shown in the entry for that item, and on your order confirmation if you purchase. Occasionally, books which are not in stock may go out of print, or become temporarily available – again this will be indicated in the entry.
Each used book has an ‘unique entry and will be automatically removed from the site once purchased.
Orders placed for books in advance of their publication date will be treated as 'subscription' orders. Payment will be debited when the order is placed, and the book supplied as soon as it becomes available.

Data Protection, privacy and Security
Details provided by customers during the ordering process are kept on file as necessary for processing and dispatching their order and for maintaining our mailing list, i.e names, addresses, email addresses, and telephone numbers. Such information is never passed to third parties and is securely held, and kept in accordance with the guidelines of the Data Protection Act. All web-site payments are processed securely by Sage-Protx on our behalf and therefore we hold no card information or other financial details in-house.
Please note. You may opt out of receiving mailings at any time. This can be done by ticking a box at the bottom of every e-mail newsletter or update that you receive from Summerfield Books. You can also opt out via the website, or by contacting us by e-mail, fax or telephone.

Pricing
Prices may be subject to change without notice. These usually follow alterations in the publisher’s price or fluctuations in the exchange rate at the point we purchase books We will inform you of any price increase, allowing you the option to cancel before orders are invoiced and dispatched.

Cookies
As with most e-commerce sites, our shopping basket and checkout require you to have cookies enabled within your browser settings to function correctly. We do not store any personal information in the cookie, and only a meaningless randomly generated key to link you to your basket contents.
You may refuse to accept cookies by activating the setting on your browser which allows you to refuse the setting of cookies. However, if you select this setting you may be unable to access certain parts of our site. Unless you have adjusted your browser setting so that it will refuse cookies, our system will issue cookies when you log on to our site.
customers who need to send us their payment details securely, without placing an order, may use this secure payment form. This may be to pay an invoice, complete a transaction, pay for an item not offered on the website, or to supply new or updated card information

Postage
UK postage is charged at £1.95 for orders under 0.75 kg rising to a maximum of £7.50 for orders over 3.75 kg. Overseas shipping charges are based on the total weight of the order. PLEASE NOTE FOR OVERSEAS CUSTOMERS: if ordering several books we may be able to offer cheaper postage options, especially to IRELAND,and NW EUROPE The postage due for each geozone is shown in the shopping basket - By default the postage chosen is UK, so please note that you must choose the geozone in which you live before proceeding to purchase.

Payment
VISA/MASTERCARD/AMEX/JCB/Maestro/Solo/Electron are accepted without charge, by on-line ordering from this website. Payment by Paypal is also accepted.

ACCOUNT OPTIONS FOR ALL CUSTOMERS
When purchasing books you will be offered the option of opening a customer account or continuing as a guest. You can always purchase as a guest if you wish. If you open a customer account you will need your password and e-mail address on future visits when logging in .
In your customer account you will be able to see the progress of your orders and also see your order history.

ACCOUNT OPTIONS FOR ORGANISATIONS
If you are purchasing on behalf of an organisation and would like to establish a credit account as well as a customer account, then please contact us….. normally orders will require some official authorization e.g. a purchase order number, ratified by your finance section, on appropriately headed paper.

VAT
All books are zero rated in the UK. Some items e.g. lenses DVDs, CDs, are standard rated for VAT (20% in the UK). Prices shown on the website are inclusive of VAT. For customers outside the EU, and EU customers providing a valid VAT registration number, VAT will be deducted automatically from the price of standard rated goods during checkout.
