This volume – the first of six – continues the first comprehensive English-language flora of the Russian Arctic.
Translated from Russian by Graham Griffiths, this first volume of the Flora of the Russian Arctic describes the thirteen families: Polypodiceae (True Ferns); Ophioglossaceae (Adder’s Tongue family); Equistetaceae (Horsetails); Lycopodiaceae (Club-Moss); Selaginallaceae (Selaginella family); Pinaceae (Pine family); Cupressaceae (Cypress family); Sparganiaceae (Bur-Reed family); Potamogetonaceae (Pondweed family); Juncaginaceae (Arrow-Grass family); Alsimataceae (Water-Plantain family); Butomaceae (Flowering Rush family); Gramineae (Grasses).
Together the six volumes in the series will treat some 360 genera, 1650 species and 220 infra-specific taxa, including many new combinations and previously undescribed maps and detailed keys to genera and species complement the species discussions.
