Scanned reprint of a title first published in 1962 and long out-of-print and sought after. Remains to this day the most comprehensive survey of tree diseases, their causal agents – insects, fungi, viruses, mineral and other deficiencies – and damage symptoms, limitation etc.

The environmental background to these diseases is examined, and there is substantial analysis of diseases specific to particular genera.
