Author Biography

Annie Petersen, Ed.D., is the founder and president of the Association for Human-Animal Bond Studies. She previously served at the education manager for the San Diego Humane Society and SPCA, and has worked in the fields of education, early childhood development, and animal welfare for over 30 years. Dr. Petersen holds an Ed.D. in educational leadership and management from Alliant International University, as well as an M.A. in counseling and a graduate certificate in mental health recovery and trauma-informed care from San Diego State University.
