A single quarter leather binding comprising 7 volumes of the Proceedings of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences: Contributions from the Gray Herbarium of Harvard University by B.L Robinson, firstly his Papers from the Hopkins-Stanford expedition to the Galapagos Islands entitled Flora of the Galapagos Islands, followed by 6 later volumes relating to eupatorieae. Quarter bound in tan leather with black and red marbled boards. 4 spine bands and a slightly darker brown leather spine label with gilt titles and A.L.C. stamped at the base of the spine. Leather rubbed; worn and stained in places, with some old bookworm holes exiting the joints near the base. Hinges cracked but holding firm. Attractive bookplate on front pastedown; author’s obituary pasted to rear of FFEP. Previous bookworm damage to lower 1 1/2″ of the rear hinge, affecting the final 20 pages of the textblock but not obscuring any text. First title page and pp. 89-92 detached but present. Otherwise crisp and clean. Overall Very Good. Photos available on request.
