Author Biography

Dave Goulson is Professor of Biology at University of Sussex, specialising in bee ecology. He has published more than 300 scientific articles on the ecology and conservation of bumblebees and other insects. He is the author of the Sunday Times bestseller A Sting in the Tale, now translated into seventeen languages. This was followed by A Buzz in the Meadow in 2014, Bee Quest in 2017, The Garden Jungle and Gardening for Bumblebees in in 2019, and Silent Earth in August 2021. Emily Carter is an award-winning British designer based in London, specialising in hand illustrated silk accessories, stationery and furnishings. Her collections incorporate themes from natural history, flora, fauna and scientific illustration to create surreal and unique illustrations and prints. The Royal Entomological Society is devoted to the understanding and development of insect science. The RES support international collaboration, research and publication. They aim to show every person how remarkable and valuable insects are and want to enrich the world with insect science.
