Book Condition: Good+.
Published as 8 volumes in 4 in green cloth boards with gilt titles and floral decoration to covers and spine; all 4 volumes lightly bumped with light shelfwear and light soot staining to spines; bindings sound; vols 2 and 3 a little cocked. Top edges of textblocks dust dulled. The colour plates of all volumes remain crisp and bright with a thumb mark on a very small number. Vol.1 (1st & 2nd Series) very crisp and clean inside with almost no foxing and very light age toning; endpapers more toned; an ink spot to the fore edge of the textblock. Vol. 2 (3rd & 4th Series) also very crisp and clean inside with very light age toning; endpapers more toned. Vol. 3 has seen a little more use but remains fairly well preserved: a small number of dog ears and a little more foxing, but still fairly light. Vol. 4 has a little light foxing and the final few leaves have a creased bottom corner but otherwise fairly crisp and clean with light age toning. Overall a lovely set.
