The first edition of A Checklist of the Lepidoptera of the British Isles was published in 2013 by the Royal Entomological Society. This second edition has been fully revised and updated by the same editors: David Agassiz, Stella Beavan and Robert Heckford, and is published by the British Entomological & Natural History Society. It incorporates nomenclatural changes and additions and corrections to the British List bringing it up to date.
This second edition encompasses a net addition of 55 species to the British list. Practical improvements over the first edition include a smaller format (now the same height as other BENHS publications), more easily identifiable sections and a sewn spine to prevent the pages from becoming separated with regular use.
Covering all British macro-moths, micro-moths and butterflies, this is an indispensable reference for any serious lepidopterist.
