Author Biography

Brian L. Fisher is curator of entomology at the California Academy of Sciences, San Francisco. He has explored ant diversity in Madagascar since 1993. In 2004, he created the Madagascar Biodiversity Center dedicated to insect biodiversity, conservation, and education. He is coauthor of Ants of Africa and Madagascar. Christian Peeters is research professor at the French National Science Agency (CNRS). A member of the Institute of Ecology of Sorbonne University in Paris, he studies ants on several continents, particularly reproductive behaviors, life histories, and morphological adaptations of queens and workers.
