A beautifully original story about the importance of wildflowers and bees

“We need to tell you something Lily!” they buzzed. “It’s about the wildflowers …”

Lily Katinka thinks she is the most beautiful flower in Dudley’s garden. But she’s rather worried because Dudley has allowed the end of the lawn to grow wild, and it seems so untidy!

Adding to her dismay, the ‘ugly weeds and scruffy grasses’ are getting a lot of attention from the bees and the butterflies.

What is so special about the bottom of the garden? Lily Katinka has to find out …

"Wow! Two of my favourite subjects - saving pollinators and flowers - in a book so well written and so unassuming that it surely must appeal to everyone ... The book's language is engaging and memorable, it's educational without preaching or being forceful. Its humour is subtle and the story is easy to read. The artwork is gorgeous, truly beautiful. They are reminiscent of some of the artwork from Edith Holden's "The Country Diary Of An Edwardian Woman" - all floaty poppies, cornflowers and greenery. I absolutely loved them" ~ Goodreads reviewer    "What first attracted me to At the Bottom of Dudley's Garden was the theme around the storyline which is the importance of bee friendly plants and flowers in the garden to encourage pollination. The words the author uses are child friendly and warmly introduce children to an important ecological issue that is a vital cog in the wheel of life. The beautiful, stunning illustrations by artist Anna Platts are just so pretty and so idyllic. I found myself dreaming of a garden like Dudley's. At the Bottom of Dudley's Garden is a picture book that would be enjoyed by all and could be the start of a project in a school classroom or at home to create your own bee friendly areas with Humphrey Comfrey, Chloe Clover and Pippa Poppy. It is also an important lesson that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes and it's not just looks that take centre stage" ~ Kraftireader, book blogger    "A simple, well illustrated childrens story with a real message" ~ Reader reivew
