Author Biography

Juan Freile has been birding throughout Ecuador over the last 20 years, has published more than 80 bird-related papers and books, and works on a wide array of environmental issues. Juan currently acts as chairman of the Committee for Ecuadorian Records in Ornithology, and is managing editor of Cotinga and Revista Ecuatoriana de Ornitologia. Robin Restall is an acclaimed bird artist. His works include the magnificent Birds of Northern South America among many other field guides. Robin was also the author of the Helm identification guide, Munias and Mannikins.
