The scarce 1st edition. Internally the book is very crisp, clean and bright including the fold out maps. There is some age toning to the endpapers. The front pastedown contains the attractive bookplate of its previous owner, the notable botanist and author Mary Briggs. Library stamp of The Rapinat Herbarium, Tiruchi to the title page. The green cloth boards have some light edgewear. The DJ is chipped with some small tears around the edge and some light soiling; there are some places where it has stuck to the board cloth.
