This is the German edition of Flora Helvetica ( The French edition can be viewed here)
For more than 25 years, “Flora Helvetica” has been the standard work on botany in Switzerland. Although scientifically structured and adapted to the APG standard, the work also meets the needs of less trained plant lovers.
Practically all flowering and fern plants growing wild in Switzerland are illustrated with one or two excellent color photos and described in precise text. The species description contains the scientific, German, French, Italian and Romansh name, the most important characteristics, the ecological requirements, the frequency and occurrence in Switzerland as well as other information such as degree of danger, toxicity, pharmaceutical use, legal protection.
The 7th edition has been completely revised again. 58 neophytes were newly included with images, and a further 32 taxa were recorded for the first time as annotations without images.
