1st edition. Book Condition: Very good+.
Both volumes in original matching green bindings with blind stamped cover borders and gilt spine titles, the first (Murray) volume with gilt vignette of the Cheddar Pink to spine; both lightly rubbed and lightly bumped to top and tail of spine. Internally both very crisp, clean and bright with only light age-toning; no foxing to the supplement and just the occasional very light foxing to the Murray volume. The Flora has the heraldic bookplate of Hugh Ker Colville, of which the forenames have been overwritten with (presumably) the name of his daughter, Magdalen. The reverse of the FFEP includes a neatly handwritten quote relating to Glastonbury Abbey. A small number of neat pencil annotations in the text. Incl. an attractive frontispiece, complete with tissue guard, and the fold-out map, both in near Fine condition. The supplement is exceptionally clean and free from any inscription. Overall the Flora: Very Good+, the Supplement: near Fine. Photos available on request. An excellent opportunity to obtain excellent examples of both volumes together.
