Hiking in the Alps is always a memorable experience not just for the landscapes but the wildflowers that are found there. Alpine plants are also interesting because of the variability within species and the hybrids encountered.
In order to be able to correctly determine all the plants that can be found in the mountainous area or beyond, this guide focuses on the typical alpine plants, which live above the tree line, as well as the characteristic species from lower altitudes.
The guide has been designed for easy and logical use, with a coloured banner system to facilitate browsing. Species descriptions indicate the important characteristics for determination, together with likely habitats and altitudinal limits.
