Linnaeus: Genius of Uppsala

Published to coincide with the tercentenary of Linnaeus’ birth, this short, but attractive and informative book gives a flavour of the background to Linnaeus’ studies. Chapters on his student days, his recreation of the University botanical garden, his time at Botanical House (now the Linnaeus Museum) are complemented by discussion of his scientific work, notes on his times abroad and a pleasing general historical account of Uppsala itself.
