This guide book covers the “microlepidoptera” traditionally classified in the Epipyropidae to Pterophoridae families (the first volume on microlepidoptera (Vol. 7) covers the
Micropterygidae to Tortricidae families).
Over 2,000 species are illustrated and described in detail (79 color plates), with a focus on their biology (plants on which they feed, their mines, cases, frequent biotopes, usual flight period and distribution).
As this is the last volume in this collection, the author included a list of all the Lepidoptera in Europe, enabling the reader to fully appreciate the huge diversity of Lepidoptera and to locate the family under study in the classification.
In practice, this volume presents about thirty families that were not studied in previous volumes of the collection.
