Oak: fine timber in 100 years is a guide to growing oak trees for quality timber and is an English version of Jean Lemaire’s Le Chene Autrement, translated from French by Bede Howell.

Translator Bede Howell, former President of the Royal Forestry Society, is a Chartered Forester who has worked in French oak woods and sawmills and whose knowledge of oak and its silviculture in Britain is extensive.
