Orchids of Sumatra

This book recognizes 139 genera and 1118 species of orchids occurring in Sumatra and its surrounding islands. Each species is fully described, while avoiding technical terms as far as possible.

The 664 excellent colour photographs, mostly of plants growing in the wild, have been placed close to the descriptions to ease identification. These are supplemented by 70 superb line drawing. The detailed descriptions of habitat, ecology and geographical ranges will make this work very useful to growers and hobbyists, as well as to taxonomists and conservationists.
