Sixteen chapters provide an overview of the classification of more than 3,000 mushroom species from Central Europe, illustrated with drawings of typical species. Determination is based on characteristics that are as easy to assess as possible. If key features are not visible macroscopically, then criteria for identification by microscopy or chemical reactions are given. Once a species has been identified, a precise description follows with a photograph for all common and common species.
