"This new book should be in the day pack, backpack, saddlebag, purse, or glove compartment of all who visit the high country in and around Rocky Mountain [National] Park." —Bloomsbury Review "[Armstrong] is unusually successful in presenting scientific fact without seeming to; this reads like popular nature writing but is heavy with interesting information on how each animal makes its living and interacts with its environment." —Books of the Southwest "Designed for quick reference and enjoyable reading, the guide offers what most field guides don't - a wealth of fascinating information about each species." —Fort Collins Coloradoan
