This book concentrates on the ferns and lycophytes, (clubmosses, spike mosses and quilworts) of Lesotho, some of which have a history dating back more than 340 million years.
Lesotho, a small mountainous country sometimes descrbed as the Switzerland or “Mountain Kingdom” of Africa, supports a rich and interesting flora.
The book describes where to find the different ferns, how and what to look for, how to identify them and the best way to collect and preserve them. It also details their roles in human society especially their use by Basotho for medicinial and economic uses.
