Author Biography

Adeney Freitas Bueno is an agronomist with a master's and a doctorate degree in Entomology. Dr Bueno is a senior scientist at Embrapa Soybean in Brazil with the last 16 years of his career dedicated to the study of Integrated Pest Management of Soybean. His research focus is on Applied Biological Control with egg parasitoids and the preservation of these biological control agents through the use of selective pesticides and the adoption of Economic Thresholds. With more than 120 scientific articles and 7 book chapters, Dr Bueno also served as the Head of Research and Development of Embrapa Soybean from 2022 to 2024, and still works as professor at the graduate programs from the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR) and State University of Londrina (UEL) where he has been the advisor of several master and PhD students. Antônio Ricardo Panizzi received his PhD form the University of Florida, USA and works as a research entomologist at Embrapa in Brazil. He is an invited professor at the Federal University of Paraná, Brazil and at the Universidad de la Republica in Uruguay. He received several awards, including the ESA International Branch Distinguished Scientist Award, which he received in Denver, CO, USA in 2017. He has served as Editor of the Annals of the Entomological Society of Brazil (now called Neotropical Entomology, published by Springer). He is the editor or co-editor of six books. He was head of the Entomology Team at Embrapa Soybean Research Center and acted as consultant for Soybean Entomology Programs in South America and for FAO in Ankara, Turkey. He served as Member of the Agronomy Consult Team for the National Science foundation of Brazil. He was an invited scientist at the National Institute of Agro-Environmental Sciences, Tsukuba, Japan. He is Honorary Member, President of the Entomological Society of Brazil, and International Delegate of the Society. He has published extensively (ca. 300 manuscripts) including research articles, reviews,  and book chapters.
