Sutton Park is a medieval deer park, surviving almost intact although now completely embedded in the urban west midlands and turned to different uses. Practically 1,000 ha in extent and just 9 km from Birmingham city centre, it supports a treasure trove of botanical diversity.
This Flora, written by a team of local experts, includes an up-to-date survey of the Park’s history and archaeology, particularly in relation to past vegetation, and detailed, lavishly illustrated accounts of its flowering plants, conifers, ferns, mosses, liverworts, lichens and fungi.
