Author Biography

Dr. Nana Bolashvili is the Director of the Vakhushti Bagrationi Institute of Geography at the Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) in Georgia. She is the President of the Georgian Geographical Society and a Scientific Technical correspondent for UNCCD. Dr. Bolashvili has authored over 50 scientific publications including numerous monographs. She has contributed to several international scientific conferences and workshops, both as an organizer and participant. Dr. Bolahsvili is involved in many international and local grant projects.  Dr. Vazha Neidze was the Head of Department of Human Geography at the Vakhushti Bagrationi Institute of Geography and a member of the Scientific Board of the Georgian Geographical Society. He was an International Chess Master and FIDE Arbiter. Dr. Neidze has authored numerous monographs and written over 150 publications. He is the author of several textbooks for V, VI, VII, VIII and IX classes, such as "The World Social-Economic Geography. Textbook for students of H/E Institutions"(Lega, Tbilisi, 2003). The Georgian Geographical Society awarded the Vakhushti Bagrationi prize to Dr. Vazha Neidze for his joint monograph "Tblisi. Economic-Geographical Research" (P/H sabchota Sakartvelo, Tb. 1989).
