Author Biography

Roja Rahimi, Pharm.D., Ph.D., graduated with a Pharm.D. degree from Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, Shiraz, Iran, and continued her education to receive a Ph.D. in traditional pharmacy from Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Tehran, Iran. She also holds a Postdoc in “Pharmacology of Medicinal Plants Used in Gastrointestinal Disorders in Persian Medicine”. She is now a Professor of Traditional Pharmacy at the School of Persian Medicine, Tehran University of Medical Sciences. She has been listed amongst the Top-1% highly-cited scientists according to Essential Science Indicator (ESI) in the years 2015-2017, and 2022. She has contributed to more than 200 articles and several book chapters for international publishers. Her field of expertise focuses on the evaluation of the safety and efficacy of Traditional Persian Medicine formulations in pre-clinical and clinical settings. Roodabeh Bahramsoltani, Pharm.D., Ph.D., graduated with a Pharm.D. degree and then, a Ph.D. degree in traditional pharmacy from Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Tehran, Iran. She is now an Assistant Professor of Traditional Pharmacy at the School of Persian Medicine, Tehran University of Medical Sciences. She has been listed amongst the Top-1% highly-cited scientists in 2022 based on the Essential Science Indicator (ESI) and has authored more than 60 international papers and several book chapters. She is interested in the development of natural medicinal preparations based on Traditional Persian Medicine textbooks and the evaluation of their pharmacological activities in animal/ cellular models.
