“The new edition of Wild Flowers of the Mani retains the format of the original but has been expanded and now describes more than 1000 species of flowering plants, trees and ferns from the floristically diverse Mani Peninsula in the Southern Peloponnese area of mainland Greece.
By eliminating any plants not occurring in the region the process of identification is simplified since there are more than 5,800 plant taxa in the whole of Greece. Every plant is illustrated with at least one photograph and a short description. There are general descriptions of the environment, climate and vegetation of the area, including maps, ane illustrated key to plant families, a glossary of botanical terms used and diagrams of leaf morphology and inflorescence structure. A bibliography of useful reference books is provided together with information on some on-line resources.
The second edition includes a foreword by Dr Kit Tan.
