Jānis Rukšāns of the Latvian Academy of Sciences is a internationally known expert on bulbs. He has also written several previous books on bulbous plants and crocuses. In this new comprehensive monograph, which is extensively illustrated with over 1700 colour photographs, he has included detailed descriptions of all 235 species of crocuses known ( at 1st December 2016). Each entry includes a description with distribution maps, colour pictures, and much information about growing, and morphology. There is a key for all species listed.
